Are you a wizard of the written word? A conjurer of content? A phenom of formats? We’re looking for a Content Director that can manage all our agency copy needs – from research to writing to editing.

Job Description

BrainDo is looking for a Content Director for our growing team of digital experts, someone comfortable working on content across a variety of marketing disciplines. The right person will bring valuable writing and editing skills to the role, adapt their approach to match different formats and audiences, and serve as the final point of review for all agency content.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and revise customer-facing content, in-house materials, and technical documentation (i.e., SEO, UX optimization, development requirements documents, etc.)
  • Ownership of all content output to ensure overall quality and consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone)
  • Collaborate to ensure changes to client and brand requirements are applied within content updates
  • Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content and finished projects within deadlines
  • Identify customers’ needs and gaps, and collaborate on new topics
  • Conduct research initiatives and client/internal interviews to generate content, translating technical topics for digestion by a layperson
  • Perform simple keyword research and apply SEO guidelines to increase web traffic, based on SEO lead direction
  • Follow an editorial calendar or project plan, collaborating with other team members to ensure timely delivery

Required Skills

  • Exceptional proofreading skills, rock-solid understanding of grammar, and experience copyediting other writers
  • Focused on tight writing, brevity, and inspirational storytelling
  • Strong understanding of AP Style
  • Familiarity with a range of content formats: webpages, lead gen landing pages, articles, paid social, technical documents, mobile apps, and presentation decks to name a few
  • Experience working collaboratively, especially across multiple teams and disciplines
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience as a content editor, technical writer, copywriter, or equivalent education and experience
  • Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role
  • Ability to meet deadlines

Bonus Points

  • Working knowledge of SEO or other marketing disciplines
  • Experience with ADA compliance
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems (WordPress, Drupal, etc.) and team management platforms (ex: Asana)
  • Agency experience is a plus
